For many uses and alloys Narrow particle size distribution, high yield, and flexible nozzle systems make AUG machines versatile for many applications. They can gas atomize a variety of alloys, including Cu, Au, Ag, Sn, Zn (standard models) and Fe, Co, Ni, Pd, or Pt (HT, HTC, and HTC+). Graphite or ceramic crucibles are used for inductive heating, with the HT model reaching 1750°C, HTC 1850°C, and HTC+ 2000°C. Crucibles hold 1.5 to 25 liters.

Powder characteristics and particle sizes for every request

AUG machines use easy-to-change free-fall and close-coupled atomization nozzles to produce specific metal powder characteristics and particle sizes. An anti-satellite system for maximum sphericity is optional. Our gas atomizers generate spherical, flowable metal powders (particle sizes ~1-200 µm) for additive manufacturing, soldering, foam sintering, MIM, and other powder metallurgy processes.

Maximum cleanliness with oxidation-free processing

Degassing, vacuum, and protective gas features allow the AUG and AUW machines to process oxidation-free in closed chambers for maximum cleanliness. Oxygen sensor values below 0.5 ppm are reproducible.
