Accepted assumptions

  1. The machine performs a linear pressure ramp from the initial to the final value.
  2. The ramp is selected so that the total pressure on the holes is approximately constant.
  3. The flow rate is then treated as constant, and the ramp time is taken equal to the drain time.
  4. Viscosity, wetting, oxide film and geometric losses are included only through the flow coefficient Cd and the calibration coefficient.
